It’s National Apprenticeship Week – learn more about our past apprentices…

This week, starting 3rd February 2020, is National Apprenticeship Week - a week to celebrate, recognise and applaud apprenticeships and apprenticeship success stories across England.

Apprenticeship schemes benefit many businesses, AinsCo included, as it gives business owners the chance to inject some youthful talent into the workplace, and ensures that employees have exactly the right skills and knowledge needed for the job.

We have seen first hand how bringing in apprentices can help fill the skills gap in the workforce, creating a highly talented and engaged team of staff.

We’re proud to have trained many apprentices over the years, including James and Ben who are still valued members of the AinsCo team today. We thought this week would be the perfect time for us to talk about some of our apprenticeship success stories!

Meet our past Apprentice

Ben Edwards AinsCo Fire and Security Sales Co-ordinator

Ben Edwards, Sales Coordinator

In 2017, Ben joined Ainsco as a Business Admin Apprentice, and in 2019 he completed his apprenticeship and was offered a full-time position as our Sales Coordinator. Ben is now responsible for coordinating all our sales enquiries and communications, and he also assists with the business’ marketing strategy.

What did you learn as an apprentice?

As an apprentice I learnt key skills like communication. Within a business, communication is key to allowing things to run smoothly. Responsibility is something I have definitely picked-up during my time as an apprentice, leading to the ownership of my role.

What are the benefits of joining a company as an apprentice?

Joining a company as an apprentice has been one of the best decisions I have made, experience is key nowadays and apprenticeships are the way forward. Working alongside a team on a day to day is the main benefit of an apprenticeship.

Would you recommend school-leavers consider applying for apprenticeship schemes?

Yes.
